The front boat in tylan2 is cracked. Don't know how long it will
hold up before shattering (hopefully not during this run!).

Entire bank has gone down. Evan is checking it out. Tubes
will have to be recalibrated.

>>> 'tylan2' problem from evan -- Wed Mar  8 08:45:04 1989 <<<

problem: bank 1 down
cause: unknown intermittent
solution: this is a reoccuring problem. The fixing of the power supply
last time this occured seemed to fix the problem. It now seems that
there is something else causing the bank to go down. Work will continue
to try to locate the ultimate cause. Due to the length of time
between failures and the resulting total shut down of the bank, this type
of problem is very hard to isolate.
The problem was noticed and reported quickly so the tubes did not cool down
much (750 to 650+). STNBY recipes were loaded and the boat loaders reset.
bank 1 is up.

Cantilever turned at a 30-40 degree angle. I think this needs to
be replaced/adjusted asap.

tylan2 does not have a cantileever however it does use a paddle
system. The paddle is very badly sagged and will have to be replaced
and rebuilt. This can be done tomorow AM. Someone has run
this tube at very high temperatures!!.

>>> 'tylan2' problem from evan -- Tue May  2 15:27:24 1989 <<<

problem: sagging paddle
cause: high temperature
solution: the paddle was replaced with a spare. the old one is being sent out
to be repaired. One 'leg' had a crack in the end as well.

The cantilever did not pull out far enough to make contact with the switch. I had to manually move cantilever in order to return it to the tube.

Did a 5 hour steam oxidation at 900C.  Expect ~ 5000A.  Nanospec
reading more like 1800A. Dry oxidation would be expected to yield
800A.

>>> 'tylan2' problem from bob -- Tue Nov 21 10:35:02 1989 <<<

Problem: User reports lower than expected oxidation rate.
Cause:??
Solution: Tom Booth has inspected the heater and the drip rate of
the steam generator. These are normal. Tom will do a test run later
today to test the system.

>>> 'tylan2' problem from tom -- Tue Nov 21 13:49:36 1989 <<<

Problem: User reports oxide too thin.
Cause: Unknown. Perhaps the program that was in the tube before
            his run did not have the steam generator heater on. It takes
            sometime for it to warm up and the interlock for the heater
            has been defeated. That would keep it from generating steam
            during the first part of the run.
Solution: Check H2O drip rate. Looks OK. Ran a test run:
            Temp=1000 C, Time=10 min. SWETOXB,  Tox=1034 by nanospec
            Tox=1040 by ellips. Right on target. Tube is up.

problem :bank1 down (same as problem for tylan 1)
cause   :??
solution:measured the supply voltages on the mother board of the slave
         cage. The voltages and power supply check out OK. Reset
         the slave cpu, dtc and the tycom. Loaded main1-4X. tylan2 is
         now up and running a calibration. It is enabled in my name
         and can be used when the cal is finished. Please re-enable
         in your name if I am still enabled as the run won't complete
         until the early pm. tylan2 is up
