       DESCRIPTION

This is the command which actually performs the digitizing
operation. For most purposes the command is given without
arguments. You will be prompted for an image name and when
       to start the scan.

       The following options are available:

----yyyy Skip the prompts for name and ready. The name
will default to that given in the startup
configuration file. The scan will start
immediately unless delayed with the ----dddd option.

----wwww Save the raw data in the format received from
the hardware in the file specified by _r_a_w_f_i_l_e.
A normal image is also made. Useful when the
software is uncooperative and for debugging.

----rrrr Instead of reading from the actual hardware,
take image data from _r_a_w_f_i_l_e. Used with files
created with the ----wwww option. The image
processing software is unaware of the
redirection caused by this handy debugging
                   option.

----dddd Like the delay timer on your pocket camera. The
image start will be delayed by 10 seconds, or
the amount specified in the _s_e_c_o_n_d_s argument.

_r_a_w_f_i_l_e The filename required for the ----rrrr and ----wwww options.
No filename expansion or path defaulting is
                   provided.

_s_e_c_o_n_d_s The number of seconds to delay. Defaults to 10.

The digitizer or motion platform must be at the home
       position.

Except for cases where the ----rrrr option is specified, the
digitizer will begin the scan operation. The raw data from
the video camera and control electronics is read into a raw
image buffer. This data is not yet corrected for optical

distortions or other effects of the optical geometry. The
raw image also contains synchronization and status data.

The raw image is then processed into a range map type image
using the variables defined in the configuration files.

If any operational errors are detected the data is abandoned
       and no image is made.

       SEE ALSO

Since the process of digitizing and processing the raw data
into a range map relies on many variables the documentation
in the appropriate set-up guide should be consulted if any
changes need to be made. The iiiimmmmaaaaggggeeee command expects to find
parameters in the file defined by the startup configuration
       (environment) variable ECHO_OPTICAL_CONFIG. Many
operational problems can be attributed to this file.
