Nupponen, K. & Nupponen, T., 1996. Ypsolopha chazariella (Mann, 1866) new to Finland Ypsolopha chazariella. Baptria 21(1): 33-34.

is reported as new to Finland. A population was found N:Helsinki, and several specimens were caught during 12.7.-20.8.1995. The larva lives on Acer tatarica (L.) from late May to the middle of June.

It is speculated that the species has been carried to northern Europe with its food plant, which is a common decorative plant in Europe. The distribution of Y. chazariella and the primary distribution of Acer tatarica are shown. It is predicted that Y. chazariella will also be found in the other parts of Scandinavia and middle Europe.
