The Siemens Vectron of class 383 is the very newest electric locomotive of České Dráhy, seen here running away from the photographer at a speed of at least 120 km/h. They are multiple electric system locomotives which can run under 25 kV 50Hz or - like here - 15 kV 16,7Hz or 3 kV DC. České Dráhy uses them especially in international express trains.

State railways cargo part is nowadays called České Dráhy Cargo CDC. This is a CDC's class 163 electric locomotive pulling a long cargo train past the small station of Praha-Klánovice. These are universal locomotives for DC current only and they are basically the same as the class 372 or the German class Br180, but without the equipment needed for driving under 15 kV AC. They were built by Škoda in the 1990s. Its top speed is 120 km/h (class 162 is otherwise the same, but they are geared for 140 km/h) and its power rating is 3480 kW.

České Dráhy Cargo locomotives of class 123 (at the front) and 163 (just rolling with, with its pantographs lowered) are bringing a heavy coal train presumably from Poland to the rail yard of Usti nad Labem. Class 123 machines are quite old Škoda locomotives built in 1971. They have a modest power output of only 2040 kW, roughly one third of a modern locomotive, and a top speed of 90 km/h. This is a modernised version of the Czechoslovakian class E 469.2 (Czech class 122), built in 1967, but the difference between classes 123 and 122 are "only minimal" according to the book "Tschekische und slowakische Triebfahrzeuge" (Gradis Bohemia 2010). Class 163 however is quite common still, but this one has a markedly special painting and foils on its sides.

Česke Drahy Cargo old diesel machine 750 338 has been painted back in the old communist time red retro paintings. The class 750 machines were during communist times known as the Chechoslovakian railways class T478, later class 753. Class 750 machines are ex-753 locomotives which went through a major revision back in the early 1990s. Most class 750 machines went through another major revision where their communist-time diesel engines were replaced by US made Caterpillar engines. Also this locomotive is new inside, but looks "retro" outside. The class 753/750 machines carry the nickname "diver's goggles". Guess why? ;-)
