Air Europa

Air Europa's EC-MJU boarding passengers from Paris CDG to Málaga. EC-MJU is one of Air Europa's newest planes. It is a Boeing B737 version 800 NG (next gen). It was delivered to Air Europa as new in June 2016.

Air Europa's ATR 72 EC-LYB ready to leave from Porto, Portugal to Madrid. This is an ATR-72 version 212A. The painting of the aircraft is that of Swiftair and the same machine has previously been operating under Swiftair's name and logo. Both companies are based on the same airfield in Madrid. It seems that Swiftair operates Air Europa's short haul flights.

Air Europa's big one, a Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner EC-NBM. This one was delivered to Air Europa in May 2019. It seems that the owner of Air Europa, a company called Globalia was planning to change Air Europa to be a global player in the intercontinental flights, especially between Spain and Latin America and to leave shorter European routes to Air Europa Express, but the corona pandemic changed everything and intercontinental traffic is not yet in what it used to be in 2019. Air Europa had (status 9/2022) 11 B787-8 and 14 B787-9 Dreamliners.

Swiftair

Air Europa Express

es-aireuropaexpress-ec_mpg-barajas-120623-full.jpg

Air Europa and Air Europa Express are not the same company, but both of these companies are owned by the same parent organisation Globalia. Air Europa Express focuses on regional flights, meaning in practise mainly flights within Spain. But these companies have a close cooperation. For instance I took a flight from Madrid to Vigo and it was announced to be an Air Europa Express flight, but it was flown by an Air Europa machine. Air Europa Express was formerly known as Aeronova and this old name still shows up in many places.
This EC-MPG was delivered in June 2017 to Air Europa. It has changed back and forth between Air Europa and Air Europa Express several times but since May 2023 it is now again with Air Europa Express.

EC-MSJ is an ATR-72 which was taken in use in 2006. During its career it has worked for at least 17 different airlines
out of which the six last ones have been switches between Air Europa, Air Europa Express and Swiftair.
