My question is this if I want to make so a 10foot one do I just make it wider, use the same spacing between foils, and foil size or do I just scale the whole lot up. I guess that either is valid but what would the effects of each of the options be. Does any one know of any info/FAQ? Going from the original 1.8 m ( 6 feet ) to the recordbreaking 2.0 meter kite can be done by adding a carbon midsection but if you go beyond that the whole thing gets to wobbly and tends to ignore all steering commands... If you want to go bigger, stay with the original flex dimentions and use the flex 10 mesurements and spar. I assume it is the flexi clone. How well does it fly? If I were you (depends on what you're after of course!) I'd go for a four liner and make it BIG - but hey that's just me. I have made my second kite this weekdn - a 60sq. foot quad, and flew it at mablethorpe on sunday ( big yellow/pink/purple affair ), the wind was just enough for me to practise with it (it is twic the size of my last one!). I am interested to hear from anyone who's made an elliptcially shaped kite - I wanna do this for my NEXT kite. I used a computer program to scale up the profile length to 600mm. This resulted in both a longer and deeper profile. I used a distance of 130mm between each profile and a standard 6' spar with a 1m carbon centre section. I must admit to being very pleased with the performance both flown singly or stacked with another 10. Happy sewing. Any chance you could send maybe postscript file of the scaled up profile. What plans did you scale up from? I have been using the ones for the Speedfoil in "Stunt Kites to Make and Fly". > This resulted in both a >longer and deeper profile.
