(1-800-827-6364) Subject: Flying Wings Jaeger at Sam's... NOT! It has been brought to our attention that SAM's Club, Inc. has published a picture of the Jaeger by Flying Wings in their holiday catalog. We have not given permission for SAM's Club to publish this picture of our product. The only location anyone may purchase/advertise any of our products is through company approved "Kite" retail outlets. As the General Sales Manager of Flying Wings Kites, let me state that this kite is NOT available at SAM's Club, or any other major retail chain. The actual kite that is for sale at SAM's Club is not a Flying Wings Kite, and is in no way affiliated with our company in any way. We are very dissapointed to find that some of our production techniques were duplicated by the manufacture, Pacific Quest, Inc. , as were the usage in some of the materials we use in our product line. At this time, we are researching to find the responsible parties, and will attempt to clarify the situation. Let it be know that any persons/parties whom advertise, premote or duplicate any of our products without our permission will be responsible for any damages and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It needs to also be noted that Pacific Quest, Inc. (the manufacture of the kite product available at SAM's Club), is also in no way affiliated with Pacific Quest International, which was the parent company of Flying Wings Kites. As of June 1, 1995, Pacific Quest International, then parent company of Flying Wings Kites became Flying Wings Kites, Inc. Coastal Breeze, distributor of the Flying Wings product line is now under the Flying Wings Kites, Inc. banner. This was done to ensure our customers that Coastal Breeze was in no way "padding" the price of the product to the retail industry. We at Flying Wings Kites, Inc. are here to manufacture and distribute the most comprehensive product line available. High quality, state of the art materials and designs, and fair pricing is our standard. We are kite flyers, dedicated to offering the best products at a price that makes sense. We hope this information has cleared any questions you may have. Good Winds. I'm not that concerned about sam's selling kites but there seems to be some connection there.... I am aware that many offshore companies go by different names but have the same owner(s) and they manufacture the same thing in the same factory under different names. Tom Marvin reported this in the news that I read yesterday and then last evening I got a catalog from SAMs with the kites on pg 17. Now comes this notice from Paul. Shame on who ever perpetrated this hoax. I've flown and purchased flying wings kites and like 'em ! The 11' Condor, the UL Thunderbird, the unique looking Bat and the Jeager all are nice good flyin' kites. Go get 'em Paul ---- Charge !!! = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Wed, 1 Nov 1995 14:13:47 -1000 From: coastlbrez@aol.com (CoastlBrez) Message-Id: <4792fr$5k7@newsbf02.news.aol.com> Organization: America Online, Inc. Kite comes in a clear top BOX and has a multipage, Xerox quality, "Manual" which provides enough info to get a novice off the ground. Fittings appeared to be SS quality or ripoffs thereof. Spares seems to be a bit heavier and fabric wasn't what I'm used to getting from Tom Marvin or Steve Ferrel. Colors were very close if not identical to the Flying Wings, Rainbow Jeager. The whole thing gave an obviously imported impression. Then again, overall it wasn't too bad. The Bag was rolled up inside with a pocket style closure. With this markte niche I don't think anyone will be seriously affected except the "Out of the Trunk Kite Sales guys". SAMs aren't usually near expensive Beach property. I suppose it's a viable entre and hopefully the common folk will follow up with forays into real kite shops for further kite krazed satiation. Paul , Edward ... keep us posted on what the ambulance chasers come up with. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
