I was recently on Long Island, and was told that it was against local beach regulations to fly when the beaches were busy. This is common sense for any users of multi-line kites, but what about hoisting an inoffensive single line type. I'll be grateful for any clarification of the rules. I'll be in St.Pete's between the 1st and the 8th of June, so if anyone knows of anything going in the area.... -- >From : Peter Bishop email : bish@sceptre.demon.co.uk SITA : LHRCPXS = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sun, 21 May 1995 06:35:05 -1000 From: davmann@aol.com (DavMann) Message-Id: <3pnq3p$m7g@newsbf02.news.aol.com> Organization: America Online, Inc. Of course, you will not want to fly right over their heads, but that is true anywhere. I also fly on the east coast at New Smyrna, but there you have to be very respectful since the beach is not that wide, is much more crowded, and they allow cars to drive on the beach. If you mind yourself, you can fly without problems. I hope you have a great time. The holiday is over now, and the whole affair was a bit strange. The first part of the trip was full of all the park visits in the Orlando area, and during the second part I had scheduled three days of quality time at the end of some kite lines. Unfortunately that was the time that tropical storm 'Allison' decided to hit the gulf coast. Now, I know we all pray for wind, and the worst thing any of us want is a perfectly calm day, but I'm afraid that when it comes to wind, you can have too much of a good thing :) Thanks again for the postings and the direct mail. I will file it all away and use the info next year. -- >From : Peter Bishop email : bish@sceptre.demon.co.uk SITA : LHRCPXS = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
