The sharp turns, and screaming lines are incredible. However, I'm a little confused about how I can adjust my kite for different wind conditions. When should I move the bridles up (towards the nose) and down (towards the base of the kite)? If anybody knows the physics behind what actually happens when the bridles are adjusted, please post! When you move the bridle point toward the nose you are relying on the aerodynamics of the wing (because you are providing more of a wing surface to the wind). When you move the bridle point back fro the nose you are presenting more of a "flat board in the wind" profile. So, move the bridle forward for more lift, less pull, and slower speed. Move it back for less lift, more pull (barn door in the wind for some kites), and more speed. It then follows that you want to move the bridle point toward the nose in low winds and move it back in high winds. Remeber, the total adjustment "window" on the bridle is not very much, in some cases only about half an inch. So, make small adjustments and "eye it" to make sure you've got both sides about the same. Given the above "easy" rules, just go and play around. Have fun. -- Raymond E.
