As an overview I love kiting and more so yet I love the feel of the kite pulling against me. I would like to learn anything possible about a flexifoil, and sliding, ie. how much kite would it take to pull an ox like myself, 215 lbs. If I stack more on does it make more pull or does it just smooth the pull out? Anything that you can provide ie. personal experience or anything which I have not even touched on would be appreciated. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ marct@esu.edu East Stroudsburg University East Stroudsburg, PA = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Wed, 28 Sep 1994 20:07:11 -1000 From: andrew@tug.com (Andrew Beattie) Message-Id: Organization: /usr/lib/news/organisation Subject: Re: Flexifoils & Sliding/Skiing marct@esu.edu (Marc Thornton) writes: > I would like to learn anything possible about a flexifoil, > and sliding, ie. how much kite would it take to pull an > ox like myself, 215 lbs. You can do it with 1 in a strong enough wind. More kites allow you to slide with less wind. They also allow you to slide for longer because they can do it while traveling more slowly. A decent sized stack (half a dozen or so 10's) make the power window big enough that you can turn the kites in the power and *keep* sliding > If I stack more on does it make more pull or does it just smooth > the pull out? Both. The pull starts more gently, more early on, too. Andrew BTW: I just happen to have a stack of half a dozen 10's for sale... -- Netiquette-of-the-day: Keep your signature to 4 lines or less You can FTP the kite FAQ's from ftp.hawaii.edu (directory /pub/rec/kites/faq) = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
