The dates are June 10 to 19 although the first weekend is a bit less formal than the following week. The AKA International Committee, in cooperation with KiteLines magazine is organizing a delegation to the festival this year. This is one of Europe's largest kite gatherings with about 5000 fliers in attendance. The island is *magical* and the people are great. I strongly recommend it -- and would say that even if I weren't leading the tour. The anticipated price is $1,450 for airfare, lodging, cars, and ferry tickets. (You have to buy your own food.) We are capping the group at ten people, so if you are interested, let me know. The first ten folks to get me their $100 deposits get the slots. Call or EMAIL me if you have any questions. BTW - we're planning a trip to China in the Fall too. -- David Gomberg phone 503-996-3083 Box 113, Neotsu OR 97368 USA fax 503-334-9692 Never try to teach pigs to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 31 Jan 1995 22:03:48 -1000 From: john.mitchell@multinet.de (john) Message-Id: <199502010803.AA05095@BlackBird.MultiNET.DE> Organization: Harvard University Office of Information Technology Subject: Re: FAN0 To all concerned, > > When is FAN0 95 ? > > Andy > Fano 1995 is officially 16, 17 and 18 June, 1995. Many people are already planning to be there for two weeks, being the week before and after these dates. The reason so many people are taking two weeks is that most houses in Fano are rented from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday only. If you want a house you better get one now as most are already gone. Alternative accomadations are hotels, very expensive or camping which is cheap, sometimes cold and wet. There are organized trips from the USA and some other countries. In this case I would suggest you contact your countries main kite club. I myself will be there fro two weeks from Sayurday to Saturday. This is my sixth time to Fano. If anyone has any questions drop my a email and I will try to get you an answer. I will gather some more general information and post it shortly. As far as I know the official days are from Friday 16th of June to and inlcuding Sunday 18th of June There are usually people flying kites before and after these days as well.
