Dear all, Wisdom from the net (part 2) ... I am considering building or buying a buggy for kite traction. Looking at the prices for buggies > 300 uk pounds I (rightly or wrongly) feel that it should be possible to build a buggy for alot less. Has anyone else tried this and is willing to share any gems of information ? Does anyone have any plans for such a buggy they are willing to release into the public domain ? I hoped to build one similar to commercially produced (built from tubular steel with boat trolley wheels) ones with exception of having a joint about here | | ===== | /| + v / | |/---\______/ | ====== ______ | |\---/ \ | + ^ \ | | \| | ===== | This should (in theory) made the buggy easily collapsible for storage. Can anyone offer any advice on the matter - or suggest where I can get a cheaper commercially produced one. Please CC: replies to me as News expires mighty fast 'round here. -- Declan Higgins - dhiggins@bfsec.bt.co.uk ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mihi crede, hoc mihi magis quam tibi nocet" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 3 May 1994 16:13:20 -1000 From: mark@murder.demon.co.uk (Mark de Roussier) Message-Id: <768042800snx@murder.demon.co.uk> Organization: damage Subject: Re: Ever Try to Build a Buggy ? He's a local kite trader ( trading as 'Kites Up!' I think ) and member of our club ( no, I'm not on commission ! ) who has trodden this path in recent months. I believe he's close to going into production with a buggy costing less than 300ukp. His main problem for a long while was the cost of wheels with sealed bearings ( the main material cost in a buggy ), but I think he's got that sussed now. -- Mark de Roussier ************************************ A nice man is a man of nasty ideas.
