The following results were put together by Robin Haas (rlhaas@pylon.com) who is having trouble posting to the net on his current service. Let me set the stage by saying that Ann and I had a lot of fun at this event, it was great from a purely personal point of view to attend an event that did not involve a 6+ hour drive. This competition was held on Camano Island Wa. about 1.5 hours north of Seattle. Robin had scouted out and 18 acre farm for this event. The wind was a little on the flaky side at the start of the day ( show of those low wind skills... people ) but picked up throughout the day. The area set aside for us was large enough for 3 comp. fields + 1 practise field ( all reg. 300 feet sq. ) plus lots of room for staging. Someone did a terrific job of scaring up sponsors too ( lots of donated goodies to be won by raffle ) Robin decided that instead of penalizing late entrants he would reward early entrants instead ( like that idea a LOT ) We thought the level of judging was consistently high with many experienced individuals making the trip, not to compete, but just to lend their judging expertise. We had hoped for enough for some buggy action on the Sunday... but it was a case of yet again " Ya should ' a been here the day before yesterday " Oh well.. maybe at Long Beach. Speaking of Long Beach, that's our next stop , looking forward to meeting some of you rec.kiters but we won't be there for the Wed, Pizza feed. Look for us on the demo field during stunt kite day Friday. Ann and I form Air Xpress, look for us under the Kite Company and Skyburner banners. C. U.
