Most kites aren't good for more than 500 hours. You ever set a kite outside for 16 days? I am sure that the tether points that secure the kite to a fixed point be located so that the wind will never blow the wrong direction. Lets see, i have a tetrad that is about 20'x16'. i could replace all of the fiberglass with steel rebar, and all of the ripstop sails with 4oz Dacron, that would be a good thing... I hope that this event works out. I hope that you get to do it again and again. I also hope you know what you are getting into. Outdoor installations are VERY tricky. i have done it twice. We are looking for some great kites to add to our displays at EPCOT and we are interested in yours. If you have a kite(s) that you feel is special, clean and can weather 16 days outdoors, then we will display it at EPCOT and put a small plaque with your name and some information about your kite beside it. We can only display framed kites and have special interest in large cellular kites. Any kite over three feet in size will work however, If you have a framed kite or a soft kite (or sky junk) then send it along. Kiteman Productions, Inc. will be responsible for your kite so please indicate a value if you want. If your kite is of such value that you would require a rental fee, please contact Mike Simmons to receive approval before shipping (305) 572-5094. Kiteman Productions will ship your kite back (with a photograph of it at EPCOT) immediately following the event. Although we can't invite everyone to participate directly in this event, it is a very important opportunity to show the world what kiting is about.
