I am about to build an Electron stuntkite from a kit. I think the kite originates from a german factory called HQ. Does anybody know anything about this kite, flying, history etc. It was not in the FAQ last time I looked. just curious, thanks. st.George = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Subject: Re: Electron.. So what I'm about to tell you is not my own experiences but instead what I've heard. The people I've talked to all say that it is a nice kite. It's used as a team kite in Denmark. It has a little more radical touch than a SpinOff. It should be quiet since it has an adjustable string in it's curved trailing edge. If the kite is half as good as the plan is it must be a very good kite. The plan lacks nothing but the orientation of the cloth. But I guess that is not much of a problem. I'm interested in your, or anybody elses, experiences with the Electron since I can't decide for my self whether I should build a Hawaiian Chevron, JetStream or an Electron. I have been very satiesfied by the plan and the kite. Although this was my very first kite and I even had no experinces in building kites, I managed to buildt it within 7 days (only working two hours a day). The plan doesn't lack anything important (with the exception of the orientataion of the nylon). I am also very pleased with flying the kite. It is absolutely quiet, is very fast and easy to manoevre. meanwhile I have build some other kites (spin-off, hawaiian,..) but until know I always prefer to fly the electron. So there I can only give one advice: go to your local dealer and buy the stuff.... Bernhard P.S. I currently can't post to rec.kites, so could you please do this for me? -- +------------------------------------------------------------------+--- ------+ | Bernhard Malle | RPK / Ma | | Institut fuer Rechneranwendung +----------+ | in Planung und Konstruktion | | Universitaet Karlsruhe | | Kaiserstr. 12 Tel.: +49 721 6082762 | | D-7500 Karlsruhe Fax.: +49 721 661138 | | Germany e-mail: malle@rpksun1.mach.uni-karlsruhe.de | +---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = elroy.jpl.nasa.gov!ames!agate!spool.mu.edu!think.com!enterpoop.mit.edu! eru.mt.luth.se!lunic!sunic!ugle.unit.no!alf.uib.no!appletart.hdata.no!Steinvh Subject: electron..
