It is the easiest quadline kite to learn to fly, much less skittish than a revolution. It is very forgiving and takes a real beating even though it looks fragile. I too will state that it is very easy to fly. Sort of like flying with extension on your arms attached directly to the kite. Very friendly flying as I was able to walk right up to it and fly it (first time on a quad). However it doesn't appear able to do what the Revolution is capable of doing and is sort of hard to setup, especially the first time on a windy beach. I basically did the same thing, only I was the one flying it. I was able to get the critter up and keep it up on the first try. Can't say the same thing about the Revolution my brother has or one other: I bought a cheap Costco type kite way back in my early stunt days (ok not that long ago), and was flying this thing fairly well up at Fort Flagler (Washington), when an older gent who was flying a Revolution called me over and said, here, try this. After crashing it into the ground several times, he figured I was telling the truth when I said I MAY be able to fly it, but am fairly new to stunt kites. He then taught me how to fly the Costco. I never did tell him my total time on the Costco before trying the Revolution was about 30 minutes. I started with a RevII, but then I never flew a sport kite before that. I've been told it's easier to fly quad if you've never flown dual and I agree. However, I recommend a quad-foil. Like a Quadrafoil or quad-line Peel etc. The first time I flew a Quadrafoil I just cried it was so easy :'-). My wife who doesn't have a clue about quads picked it right up. Don't tell her I said that! The Quadrafoil was so forgiving. Also, if perchance you perform an unplanned, highspeed landing? I was flying a dual line on the same field as a guy with a REV 1, and he let me try his kite. I did the obligatory couple of crashes, which doesn't really faze that kite -- it's built like a tank. But after a couple of minutes, I had no problem keeping it in the air and even learning a few tricks. One thing, earlier threads have said it's better not to have to unlearn how to fly a dual-line before you fly a quad line, and I agree. But it's also a good thing to try and pick it up right at the beginning of the season, when you may be a bit rusty and not too ingrained into doing the pull-push control thing. One other thing -- after that first time, I fell in love with the REV 1 (note this is not a commercial endorsement - while I would like to work for them, I don't and I've never competed). I got one for myself a short time later and neglected my dual-line kite. But I picked it up for the first time just a few weeks ago and had a blast. I'd forgotten how much fun the dual-line is. Now I carry both kites with me whenever I go flying. Have fun and good winds. Jon = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
