The name of the kite is the I.Q. ultra light. 1/2oz icarex with IIIP skyshark spars. wingspan is around 7' but the new model size has been increased for better low end performance. The best person to answer more detailed questions on this kite is Burt Tanaka. He is our sponcered flyer for Legend Sport Kites and although I have alot of experience with these kites (I distribute them) he flys them more than I do. As for where you can buy them, not too many stores carry them for some odd reason. The I.Q. is a very good flyer and has been around for a couple of years. That is why I decided to use them in the video and become the distributor, because I thought I might be able to give this great US made kite more exposure. You can call me and I will give you details on how you can get one of these. The I.Q. comes in U.L., standard (.2200 Carbon) and also vented versions. A disclaimer: I distribute and sell this and many more kites. The second kite used by Dodd in Flight School II is an ultra light IQ, made by Legend SportKites. It uses an Icarex sail and a SkyShark 3P frame. It has a wingspan of around 81" and weighs 7.6 oz. It is available from DJ Sport Kites (717)246-17366 for $216. Medium speed, good tracking, able to do most radical stunts, and is especially strong for ground work. I competed with this kite in individual competitions before I was sponsored because it does both ballet and precision well. (Not that it helped me much since I have been regularly crushed by Dodd in the few competitions we were together in.) Just recently, a big IQ UL has been added to the IQ line. It is 116arger than the original. It uses an Icarex sail and a combination of SkyShark 3P and 5P rods. It is a slow kite, an excellent tracker but agile enough to still perform most radical stunts. Our team helped develop it and we use it in 3 to 12 mph on regular length team lines. A predictable and very even speeded kite that would be a nice upgrade for any team flyer. We have a set of the regular IQ UL's, but they're actually a little bit too fast for our purposes. We have found that we can cover most of the wind range with two kites: the new, large IQ UL, and the IQ Vented.
