Subject: Discussion here and the AKA


There are three AKA regional directors who routinely read this news
group, and Brooks Leffler, executive director of the AKA, reads this
group (via the mail gateway) whenever he can.

We realize that the folks who post here are small in number compared
to the AKA membership in general, but questions and suggestions that
are posted here do give a feeling for what a part of the membership
thinks is important and worth discussing.

Many good ideas have come out of the discussions on rec.kites and I'm
sure more good ideas will surface over time. This is the reason that I
encourage everyone who feels up to posting, to post their feelings and
ideas about the issues raised in rec.kites.

I also encourage rec.kites to take that next step, from discussion, to
actually helping get things done. The AKA is a volunteer organization,
and will live and thrive or whither and die based on the actions of
the volunteers.

I think that anything you do, whether it's a carefully crafted article
here, or a quick note sent via email, can help the folks who are more
involved in running the AKA do their job better. So please, do what
you can and thanks for all of your help.
