For School I have to write a work with the topic: "The development of sportive kiting in the USA" Now I am searching for material on how sportive kiting started, how kiting now is covered by the media etc. Can anybody from you people over the pond send me material ? Even if they don't mention it in the post, you can usually spot it by: student@foo.bar.edu Email address vague, all-encompasing question "I'm conducting a survey on..." Request for replies by Email, 'cos they don't read the group Or some other give-away. You might just be lucky enough to find someone here who *will* take the time to write a detailed piece for you, there are certainly people around who have probably forgotten more about that subject than I'll ever learn, but in the meantime, I reccommend: Check out the rec.kites archive in ftp.hawaii.edu:/rec/kites Of particular interest will be the General FAQ, which amongst other things may help you locate a mirror somewhat closer to home, and the Book FAQ, which may provide a good reference. A tactic that may prove fruitful would be to research some portion of your project and publish it here. We would be interested to read it, and if there is some detail about which you have been mis-informed or some detail that you are unable to find, I would be surprised if you were not helped by someone who could speak with authority on the matter. You owe the Kite Oracle an apple.
