The ECSKC and International Kite Festival at Wildwood, NJ, had the most fantastic collection of GREAT times, GREAT wind, GREAT kites, and GREAT kiters! My personal thanks to all of you there. The "perfect event" was marred however by the theft of David Brittain's teal colored duffel bag containing a number of one-of-a-kind kites, line sets, replacement spars, and kite pins. A detailed inventory of the contents of David's bag will be posted as soon as it is available, but two of the more noteworthy contents are a custom Randy Tom Rev with David's name on it and the solid white Rev David used to set the world indoor endurance record. North American rec.kiters be on the lookout! On a more positive note, the hat was passed at the ECSKC banquet to help David restart his kite pin collection. It occurred to me that fellow "pinheads" on the international scene may wish to join in helping and show David how much we appreciate and enjoy all he has done for the promotion of kiting. David's address is: David Brittain P.O. Box 1601 Boulder, CO 80306-1601 U.S.A. I apologize in advance for any errors I may have made in this, my first posting. Good Lift to All! Dave has done a lot to provide the sport of kiting with public exposure the last few years, and I will be sending him a pin or two. Be sure to include a list of rare/unusual pins that are missing that we can keep an eye out for when you post a list of the missing kites. I suppose it has been too much to hope for that our community could stay insulated from society's "dark side" and remain as relatively crime free as it has been so far.
