It seems the first question everyone asks me is "How much does something like that cost?" So I don't scare them off, I've learned to start steering them to something like a Trlby or Peter Powell first by telling them something like "They start at about $50 and go from there depending on what you want." Any other ideas on how to promote the industry without scaring people off with the price? Usually, when they start gasping, I ask if they ski, golf, or ride mountainbikes, and then ask them how much their equipment costs. I love to get the golfers and skiiers, because then I ask them how much they spend on green fees, memberships and lift tickets each month. They get the point pretty quickly!
