Subject: Copyrights and kites

Can anyone give me information on the issues with copyrights and images
reproduced on kites?

I know that Randy Tom has used images from magazines etc (Nagel women) and
Disney and there seemed to be no issue with copyrights as long as he
wasn't mass producing the kites.

I also remember there being a discussion about this in the newsgroup and
in a magazine but I cannot find the references

If anyone has any information on the question of making a kite from an
image and the kite is a one of a kind for personal use, I'd appreciate
hearing about it
