Hi fellows, At this time I have two kites. A Gremlin and a Tracer 2100. I have decided to add two more kites. A MEFM and Air FX. I have enough information about MEFM so I am going to get it whenever someone has it. However I have not able to locate much info on Air FX. I will appericiate any feedback on this kite. If someone has has flown both MEFM and FX, their similarties and differences. I have seen FX being flown once and it look quite nice up there. Thanks Tanvir = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 13 Jun 1995 11:46:05 -1000 From: bfk@aol.com (Bfk) Message-Id: <3rl0ut$lsh@newsbf02.news.aol.com> Organization: America Online, Inc. If sales and customer response is any indication of product quality and performance, the Air F/X and MEFM are certainly the top sellers and performers at our store. My personal collection now consist of two kites a MEFM and Air F/X (I am leaving room for a third kite - Calif. WASP). All of these kites represent the state of the art in design and craftsmanship. I can probably prepare several pages of text describing the characteristics of each kite but the best way to sum it up is to say... just about everyone who has purchased the Air F/X / MEFM has been extremely pleased with the performance, no complaints, just a lot of wide grins. They cost a small bundle but they are worth every cent, especially when you take into account that each one is still built by the designer. Tech info: Air F/X built by Aerie Kiteworks (815) 962-9680, UL G-Force Frame, .6 oz Icarex, quad stand-off, adjustable outhauls, two top spreaders (adjustable aspect ratio).... boring stuff... just fly the kite.. I cannot compare it with an MEFM (which I have only flown once), but it gets more air time than any kite I have (including Eclipses, Ultra, Aerial, Jordan Aeon). Everyone who has flown mine is impressed with its performance. What I particularly like is the balance between precision and radical flight. Without touching the bridle, I can go from straight passes and steady, controlled turns to incredibly tight spins, snap stalls, axels fast and slow, turtles, etc. Nothing I've flown does so much so well. It flies well from 3 to 18 MPH. The white sail is, as you note, quite lovely in the sky; when backlit it sparkles like a jewel. Workmanship is first class, service is excellent, design is superb. Get your hands on one of these kites; you will love it. Cheers, George -- ============================== George W. I concur with George, but I have an MEFM and the Air FX is slightly less radical than the MEFM on it's flat setting. I have performed maneuvers on the Air FX that have split spars on the MEFM even though the materials are similar. The Air FX is a beautiful kite and is my absolute favorite. Hello I have both the Air FX and an MEFM. I must make a disclaimer first. These are THE two best kites I have ever flown, and they are both perfect for both ballet and precision events. The MEFM is a bit more radical than the Air FX and the Air FX is a bit smoother. Although the high end of the wind range of the MEFM is 10 mph higher, the Air FX seems to be a less fragile kite. I flew the Air FX this weekend at BASKC and took first place in Novice Individual Precision, and I owe the smoothness of my figures to my kite.
