During the time you would be here, I don't know of any festivals...certainly nothing major. This doesn't mean there isn't activity. If you're in the San Francisco area, check out the Berkley marina on the weekends. Garus (of sorts) from northern california gather to tell war stories and actually manage to fly a little (actually a whole lot). No trip to California would be complete without a visit to Cory down in Monterey. He owns what is reported to be the larges kite store in the world (I'm a believer). The place is nothing short of fantastic. If you're more of a solo type...just get on old hwy 1 and stop and fly wherever there's an interesting vista and a little space...I made a trip a little over a year ago up the California coast to the AKA convention in Seaside Oregon...the trip up took five days and included fling in over a hundred little out of the way places...nothing bu great. Flying the Flexis means you're probably into buggying and there are plenty of places from the deserts of the east to mile after mile of beaches (not a person in site for much of the winter) You might be able to tell...I love California...especially the northern areas. If there's anything I can do to help make your stay more enjoyable, just let me know. John A. Sighhhhhh. Reading this almost gives me the urge to move to California. However, living in Quebec, i would sorely miss our pleasant -20 C winter highs ;-). Admittedly, I've never taken my Rev kite out during winter. We try! Come on down and visit. We're about 2 hour south of San Francisco, and about 4-5 hours north of L.
