It's easier than you think and you can use household substances to do it. I simply put a teaspoon of coffee, a teaspoon of vinegar, and some water in a glass jar, stuffed the white ripstop into it and immersed it in a pot of boiling water for about 20 minutes. A quick rinse and you have yourself a nice, tan piece of ripstop. I have also had great success using Kool-Aid as suggested by a couple of people here on r.k. BTW--I also put in a little bit of tea to give it a slightly warmer tan colour. Experiment on small pieces and enjoy! (overhere the brandname is Dylon) Works great on (white) ripstop nylon and available in all the colors you might want.
