This was our first trip to a kite festival and we all had a great time. The winds were very light on Saturday morning and it took them all day to get through the individual competitions. I'll let someone else post the results of the competitions since I didn't participate. I can tell you that the auction Saturday nite was lots of fun. We met lots of people and I got some help with some problems I had been having with one of my kites. I won't try to name all the people we met with one exception; Marti Dermer was there with Her husband Richard. Marti got my wife interested in her minature kites! We had to stop on the way from the flying field back to the hotel to buy supplies so my wife could make kites for our kids before we left for the auction!! To make a long story longer, we had a great time and are planning to make the trip to Wichita for their festival in the next couple of weeks. If anyone has the detail about the Wichita festival, please post them or e-mail me directly at robert.barthel@oubbs.telecom.uoknor.edu. Well that's all I've got time for now, the wind seems to be kicking up and I'm itching to try the new kites I got at the aution Saturday nite!!
