Ones that I've played with have just been a plastic square with spars stuck on. Not the sort of thing that would have a plan - just a small diamond made with available materials. Favorite memories of them include: - Buying them for 50p at Basingstoke festival, and flying them on reels of sewing cotton untill they were out of sight. - Helen Morgan's "Teddy Bear" banner, where the bear flies a kiskidee - Stories of (Martin Lester?) flying kiskidees from radio controlled cars. As I recall the friend that sent it to me said that Viv Comma was known for miniature kites. (Remember, if it is on a kite pin, it must be so. ;-) Good luck, Alice Hayden 8^) = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Thu, 23 Mar 1995 19:46:07 -1000 From: vraun@freenet.niagara.com (Vaino Raun) Message-Id: Organization: Niagara Peninsula Free-Net Subject: Re: Ciscadee(?) It was included in "Kite Crazy" a TVO ( like US PBS, educational channel) program in Ontario and a book of the same name related to the program. The Kiskadee, as shown in the book, is 9 inches square with a wicker or bamboo frame. It also has a tail 90 inches long (tied at the mid point) to make it more stable. I guess as you get more proficient with it you could reduce the tail length. Framing is the same as the Indian fighter with a 12.5 inch spine and 14 inch cross spar. The bridle attaches at the cross point and at the bottom of the spine. Tow point at point giving 90 deg angle for top leg of the bridle. Warm Winds... -- Vaino Raun.....
