The Cielo Encantado Kite Fiesta will be held in Silver City, New Mexico (in the Southwest Corner) on October 7,8, & 9. It will include single line competitions especially recognizing Southwest design, fighter and rokkaku contests, and dual line precision and ballet. We will also have a concurrent showing of the Lee Toy Kite Exhibition. Last year's winners included a 21 ft. Kachina kite with spinning eyes, hummers, and bells made by Randy Shannon of Flagstaff AZ. Last year's kites will be featured with a color photo spread in a fall issue of the New Mexico Magazine. We welcome one and all to join us under the beautiful New Mexico skies. It's not worth my time. If I didn't share this account, I would simply set up "kill" files in the newsreader program which would automatically delete a) anything posted by fkenisky and b) any posting with reference to Mr. Nasty in the subject line. However, Lee claims that once in a (great) while Frank posts something worthwhile, so I abide by Lee's wishes and leave frank in. I wouldn't be surprised if many other rec.kiters share my sentiments and don't bother to read anything frank posts anymore. Out h here we think nothing of driving an hour to get groceries.
