It stretches and slips and does all those things. My 25 year old machine doesn't have a walking foot (and the cheap 'add ons' dont work). The very venerable machine also has a strong dislike to double sided tape. However, Michael Alvares recommended Silastic (silicon rubber glue - clear) which has five great advantages - 1. my machine doesn't object to it 2. its far cheaper than double sided tape 3. its sets quickly (about 10 mins) 4. excess glue rolls off after it has set, really easily 5. you dont get all the pin prick holes from hot tacking Important tip - dont get Silastic all over your hands - either apply straight from the tube (takes practice) or use gloves. Silastic doesn't hurt at the time - but over the next few days your skin peels! = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
