Wills angus@salzo.cary.nc.us 71543.2713@compuserve.com Please, post more info!!! (Location/directions from D.C area) Will there be stunt competition? How many flyers are you expecting, Will there be any team flying, will any of the "Big" names be there? Is it sponsored by the AKA, or any companies? Please excuse me if any of these questions are inapproriate, or way off base, I just got into flying last year and have yet to see a kite show. This is the first one I've heard about fairly close to me. If you know of any other kite shows/festivals/competitions within a few hours drive of northern VA, please let me know, I'd REALLY appreciate it. There are some competitions, but mainly of the lighter and single line variety not aimed at truely "serious" kite fliers/builders. If they have stunt competition, don't look for anything like an Eastern League event. I got a flier in the mail the other day. I'll bring it and upload when/if I get the chance. Had hoped to be there this year, but....Conflicts. ONE: Bald Mountain Kite Club (of which I'm a leading member according to our leader) is hosting Masaaki Modegi, President of the Japan Kite Association, in conjuction with the Consulate of Japan for a fly atop Stone Mountain in Atlanta on Sat. Oct 23. That's where I'll be. TWO: Kites Fly'n High is hosting an Eastern League Regional on Sunday Oct. 24. I had hoped to go there but with my Modegi commitments.... Anyway, if anyone goes, let us know how it is. I've heard it is a very fun event. No pressure and lots of flying.
