I was in Camper Village in Edmonton yesterday and found lots of kite making stuff! They also make tents and there was lots of different ripstop Taffeta, ripstop tape, etc available and lots of webbing in various widths and colours, plus lots of fiberglass, arrow nocks and fittings. The only thing they don't have is spectra flying line. Prices were good, $9 a metre Canadian for ripstop sail cloth, compared to $9 US plus exchange out of the states. SO if you want kite supplies try a camping, tent making store. Are we spoiled in Holland, paying 10 Dutch Guilders a meter (approx. US$ 6,00) The width being 1 meter. This is rip-stop Nylon, not polyester. >SO if you want kite supplies try a camping, tent making store. Go Fly A Kite ! Actually, I don't know why this guy is paying $9+ for ripstop. Hang 'em High sells it for $5.35/yd, and I imagine Kite Studio has similar prices. Jeff -- |Jeffrey C. Its sail cloth, 3/4ounce. 60" wide and coated with some white stuff. Not good for stunt kites but okay for the delta conyne I have planned. drc : >So it's go fly a TENT now ? :-) : Heh. Have a look at Michael Graves' web site (Leading Edge Productions) Why not! I refuse to be bound by convention! Anyone can buy a kite and get it to fly, the challange is making your own and making it fly. Especially if it is a tent, dress shirt, 4'X8' 1/8inch oak wall panel.( I won $20 on that bet!) drc : >>Prices were good, $9 a metre Canadian for ripstop sail cloth, : >>compared to $9 US plus exchange out of the states. : > : >Are we spoiled in Holland, paying 10 Dutch Guilders a meter (approx. : >US$ 6,00) The width being 1 meter. : Actually, I don't know why this guy is paying $9+ for ripstop.
