One of the pins I aquired says 'Mta 1993 Kite Gallery' : does anyone know what this means ? or what the event was. The MTA stands for "Museum of Tethered Art", and was issued in conjunction with a display of "art kites" at the 1993 AKA convention at Seaside, Oregon. There are two versions of this pin. The one with the letters "mta" on the white background, and the "1993 kite gallery" on the black background were sold. The ones with the colors reversed were mainly given to the participants, with a few sold at the AKA auction (for a pretty price - I know because I have one).
