Jeroen, There are a few things on the La-H: - get the errata list (visit the kite fliers site if you haven't got it) - Take really good care at the ends of the four tunnel for the fibers, f.i. glue the dopjes (sorry, don't know the UK word for that) on the fibers. and reinforce the ends of the tunnels with f.i. kevlar. - reinforce al of the tunnels were the lines pop in and out (trailing edge line/fibers) -Use the adjustable bridle connections as discribed in the book, you really need adjusting them. Since you from NL the chances of we meeting are high. have fun, emiel, @-home: http://www.euronet.nl/users/mielse/index.html = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Thu, 12 Oct 1995 01:51:00 -1000 From: ferry.holsderver@satje.xs4all.nl (Ferry Holsderver) Message-Id: <307d0fd1307d0fd1@satje.xs4all.nl> Organization: The Satellite BBS. I wil ask him to write down his experience and i will brief it trough. Then just tuck over a small amount (2-3mm) when doing the rolled hem. The hem will make the long pocket for you. I made the two smaller pockets at the wingtips using the sandwich method because they are very short. Plan everything out ahead of time; I had to make some small holes in complicated places along the trailing edge to acomodate the leach line. Use heavy dacron where the leach line exits the back of the kite. Also use the leading edge as your reinforced pockets for the battens, unless you plan on skiping areas along the leading edge where the battens cross. The kite is very different when it is stalled, not only because of the camber but because of the formed sail. The sail dosen't sway when the kite stops. It does very flat axels, but doesn't feather with very much stability (sways side to side). Have fun.
