Date: Wed, 16 Nov 1994 11:28:21 -1000 From: Mell@buggy.demon.co.uk (Ian Meredith) Message-Id: <785021301snz@buggy.demon.co.uk> Organization: British Buggy Club Subject: Buhhy Weight Er..With the earlier PLynn buggies the weight tended to be a little toward the back of the buggy and this meant that on a sideways drag the lighter front end would pull accross and kill a lot of speed and hinder control (vital in a race). Those in the know would lean forward whilst buggying in a strong pull as to change the weight distribution so that it was more central or balanced. This meant that a sideways pull should pull the whole buggy sideways which doesn't cause the problems above and increase your chances, lean too far forward and the back end would drag towards the kite, also a problem. The new Lynn buggy has moved the seating position forward to overcome these problems and the feel of the buggy is VERY different. Control needs to be a lot more precise but the buggy is generally a hell of a lot better performer.
