So, for starters, I went to the local kite shop and found out that they have a nice buggy discount action this month. This must be a sign :-). The latest Lynn buggy (don't know how recent that is) had just arrived. It has a thicker rear axle, but still that plied front fork with bushings. The girl at the shop told me that I could get the front end of a folding buggy instead, which has a nicer (in my eyes) fork with bearings. The surplus is $30. She did however advise the standard fork for beginners, which requires more force before turning. Hmmm. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Fri, 8 Dec 1995 09:54:14 -1000 From: miel@knoware.nl (Emiel Stroeve) Message-Id: <4aa50u$n3i@news.bt.net> Organization: BTnet, BT Public Internet Service Subject: Re: Buggy fork: which one hpeeters@vub.ac.be (Herman Peeters) wrote: >I'm slowly letting go of my intention to build a buggy and start thinking >of purchasing one (lack of time). It's a P-Lynn Competition. Didn't know there was an option to another fork. I have a buggy (home made) with bearings in the fork and never had any steering-control problems. The bearings are left out so the front wheel will stay in position when you accidently *remove* your feet >From the steering bars. You can overcom this by adding some kind of anti-slip to the bars f.i. tubing used for bike-steers. see you, emiel http://www.euronet.nl/users/mielse/index.html <<< Sputnik stuff *** Aoxo *** kite & buggy pics >>> = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sat, 9 Dec 1995 07:08:20 -1000 From: ahclem0013@aol.com (AhClem0013) Message-Id: <4acfq4$mh7@newsbf02.news.aol.com> Organization: America Online, Inc. Eventually they will all have bearings anyway it is just a matter of time. I had inteded to have mine custom made like that to begin with but we ran out of time to do it. If it only costs $30 more i'c say go for it! dean of aoxo = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Mon, 11 Dec 1995 00:11:28 -1000 From: hpeeters@vub.ac.be (Herman Peeters) Message-Id: Organization: Brussels Free University Computer Centre Subject: Re: Buggy fork: which one > What's the price you have to pay for that buggy ? No no, it's the standard buggy, catalog price, the competition has a much lower seating position. > I have a buggy (home made)...tubing used for bike-steers. Good idea.
