The voice over made some comment about buggying being the latest rage on the West Coast, that the sport began in Australia [sic], and that the buggy costs about $500 while the kite is extra -- about $200. Of course, the kites the buggiers were using were a _bit_ pricier than $200...one was a largish Force 10 foil (possibly a 6.6?) and the other was one of the higher-aspect Quad Tracs in purple and white. Both buggiers were bearded and wearing helmets. One buggy was definitely a PL, but I didn't get a good glimpse of the other one close up. Anybody know who got filmed? Jeff -- |Jeffrey C. Well I'll be dammned. Yes Jeff, I sure do know who they were, Tom McAlister, Joseph Tait, and myself. The spot was done by a station in Sacramento but they came to Berkeley to tape us. None of us have seen the spot yet. I don't suppose you had your VCR recording at the time. The producer called to tell us that the local affiliate had picked the spot up but 3 VCRs taping the 6 and 10 o'clock news all missed it. I don't think they used it. Yes, we were flying QuadTracks, a Force Ten, and as the wind died out came Joe's Peel. How did I look? Did they get my good side? Am I as handsome on TV as I am in person? :-) (Some might question the existance of my good side.) > One buggy was definitely a PL, but I didn't get a good glimpse of the > other one close up. The other is my own design. Australia, New Zealand what the hell, their both a long way from Sacramento. :-) -- +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in | | human history--with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila. | | Mitch Ratcliffe, Technology Review, April, 1992 | | Chuck Sigal | | Albany,CA,USA Voice/Fax:01.510.527.3547 e-mail:cjsigal@netcom.com | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
