To compare a surfboard with a buggy is like comparing apples with sewing needles. You will not understand the *why* of buggying if you have not done it yourself. A buggy manouvres much faster than anything else powered by a kite. The combination of the kite movements and buggy steering is so powerfull that you must split your brains and heve them work in parallel (multi-prosessing...). In other words: don't try a wheelie if your not completely in control of the kite, if you don't parallel proces on this one, you might end up with the kite face down on barb wire (aaaaarrrrrcccccchhhhhhhh !!!!!!) So glad there is ripstop-repair tape...... Please advise if wrong! *grin* I suppose I'd better explain. The address for the United States Office of Tethered Aviation just happens to coincide with that of Windborne Kites, Monterey, which is Corey Benson's Emporium. For the original Buggy Boogie Thang in Ivanpah (Jan 94), someone printed up official looking permits passes granting permission to partake of our sport, and car passes declaring "On Official Business of the United States Office of Tethered Aviation". If you were to send your name, address and 0 in used notes to the address given (which I don't happen to have here on the train, but you can ask the man himself on: coreykite@aol.com), then you'll end up with a few issues of his organ: "Buggy Newz". I friend of mine frames old sails in wood dowels and hangs the kites in his wife's beuty salon as artful decorations...looks great. Such non flying "kites" can also be donated to libraries, etc...they're always looking for something creative to hang to add a little color to otherwise gloomy settings. The idea of a collage of old kites sounds really neat...and remember, beuty is in the eye of the beholder. John = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
