The morning didn't start very well as the rain poured down and there was no wind. As the rain stopped and the sun came out so did the kites. I was really impressed with Scott Skinner's kimono kites. There was a strong Japanese influnce in his designs and I think all the kites had a patchwork effect. Dave Britten entertained everyone who saw him by flying a revolution and having a hook on the end so he could take peoples hats off and tease them. I also noticed he had a revoltion with a paint brush on the end. He also flew a stack of 7 Rev's during the weekend. John Turner from Eastboune, England came to fly a red and black donut that was 50ft across. I would be intersted to know if there are bigger ones. The donut was well made and the movement was good. He would lauch this on his own and the children loved it. These are only a few things that I particularly remember about the tenth international kite fesival at Bristol. There were so many kites to see and people to watch, I'm sure other's will fill you in on the rest.
