I was surprised to find just how taut the Stranger's line is (it *definitely* deforms the wings). Otherwise, I definitely agree that one should be careful not to tension a cheater line too much. I don't think I've ever heard one referred to as a "bow" line. It's generally not supposed to cause any bow in the leading edges, and if anything, it's attached to the stern of the kite. ;-) Jeff -- |Jeffrey C. Jeff, This is true on my Stranger too. *But* the Stranger has a twin reflexed leading edge (that's what Flexi calls it). If you look at the kite in profile this is definitly the case. I don.t think it's all caused by the bow line though. The trailing edge tensioning line is tightened first. And Flexifoil does call it a bow line too. We certainly didn't invent it but all credit to whoever did (please don't start an argument at this point!). The correspondent's here are correct in their remarks that in the case of our kite, the Box Of Tricks, the line is not designed to tension the kite in any way. It is pre-set and therefore requires no adjustment. It is purely to prevent the flying lines being caught around the wingtips when executing many of the axel based and similar tricks. As far as developing your own flying, try and meet up with other local fliers in your area. But in the meantime just experiment. Remember, there are no "rules" when it comes to having fun with your kite. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly if I can be of further assistance.
