Hosted by It's a Breeze Kite Co. Sept. 10-11 Bob Childs and It's a Breeze Kite Co. announce the world's first open class kite powered endurance race. The Bonneville Buggy Enduro (BBE) will set 7 official records in speed and endurance and test the will and determination of buggy pilots from around the world. All buggies and kite powered vehicles are eligible to participate in this historic event. The 5 mile triangle course will be set on the salt flats at the historic Bonneville Speedway, Utah. Racers will compete in one or a combination of three timed races. GRAND RACES 10 MILE (2 laps) Fastest 10 mile record 25 MILE (5 laps) Fastest 25 mile record 50 MILE (10 laps) Fastest 50 mile record PREMIUM RACES FASTEST LAP will set the record for the fastest 5 mile lap. Participants in any of the Grand Races are eligible. ENDURO CHALLLENGE will set the record in longest distance traveled around a sailing course in one event. 1 MILE RACE Pilots will race across the wind in a one mile sprint. This race is against the clock and will set the official one mile speed record. 2 WHEEL RACES (buggies only) Pilots get 3 attempts to set the record for the longest time traveled on two wheels. GROUP SPRINT (just for fun) On the start signal, pilots will launch their kite and race for 1\2 mile across the wind to the finish line. All who make the finish line (if any) are winners. CHALLENGE The BBE will serve as a personal challenge for all buggy pilots to set their own records. All racers will receive a certificate for their time\milage and their achievements will be placed in the official record standings. BONNEVILLE SPEEDWAY The Bonneville Speedway is located 120 miles west of Salt Lake City, Utah near the town of Wendover. Bonneville is the famous race track where the official land speed record was set at over 600 mph. You can get to Wendover by flying to Salt Lake City and driving west on hwy 80 to Wendover (about 2hours).
