It could be really interesting since Beman and Easton have had competitive products over the years. Easton also made kite spars for a while, but discontinued the kite products... -- Marty Sasaki Harvard University Sasaki Kite Fabrications sasaki@noc.harvard.edu Network Services Division 90 Melrose Street 617-496-4320 10 Ware Street Arlington, MA 02174 Cambridge, MA 02138-4002 phone/fax: 617-646-1925 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Thu, 6 Apr 1995 18:24:00 -1000 From: perry.farmer@thefarmbbs.com Message-Id: Organization: THE FARM BBS Subject: Re: Beman >It could be really interesting since Beman and Easton have had >competitive products over the years. I am wondering if anyone has looked into the Beman archery shafts as when I looked at them, physically they looked much more consistant than the Beman kite spars and do come in many of the same sizes. I did not have my scale with me so have no idea on their weights however. For many, the premium kite shaft is the Beman Diva shaft. You can choose the stiffness that you want since they come in many sizes. Originally, all Beman kite shafts were second arrow shafts. These were slightly out of round, or slightly crooked, or weighed more or less, or had different stiffness, etc. Sometimes AFC would ship arrow shafts when they didn't have enough kite shafts of a certain size. The main problem with using arrows is that they are more expensive than kite spars. Archers demand higher consistancy than kite folks do, and pay for this consistancy with higher prices. They will sell me damaged AFC and/or Beman shafts (missing feathers, broken arrow nocks etc..) for real cheap. After you clean them up and remove any glue used on the feathers, they are good as new.
