Hello Folks,

I'd like some information to help a beginner (me) get started
in flying stunt kites.  If anyone has assemled a "beginner's information
kit", or if there is an FAQ available, I'd appreciate getting a copy.

rec.kites has 4 FAQs, available via anonymous ftp from ftp.hawaii.edu,
in the directory pub/rec/kites/faq.  

There are reviews of several books about flying stunt kites in the
general FAQ and the stunt plan FAQ.  The directories pub/rec/kites/tips
and /tech have a number of files you might find helpful.  The general
FAQ has a Questions & Answers section that may cover some of your
questions.

There are many helpful people here on rec.kites, but a great place to
start flying is at a local park with other flyers.  Check the addresses
FAQ for stores and clubs near you.  Join the AKA (see general FAQ for
info) and you'll receive a membership directory that includes listings
by geographical area (and you get a 10 0iscount from AKA Member
Merchants and other benefits).
