    Here's a DIY pole anchor which works well.  You need:

    Appropriate length of Handy Angle or other 90 degree shelving
    post, cut to a point at one end.

    Length of plastic conduit of the appropriate diameter

    Plastic tie wraps to fasten pipe to post.
