No amount of arguement would convince him that it was little more than a wheelbarrow. Does anyone know if this is the norm now. I have been scootling about on the marsh for a few months now, has anyone else had this problem. It was particularily irritating as there was no one playing football for about a mile from where I was and even with the gusty wind it was excellent. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = From: Helen Ribchester Subject: Re: Banned from Hackney Marsh Date: Fri, 17 May 1996 05:01:07 -1000 Organization: University of Salford Message-ID: <4ni4bj$n8t@io> afriend@easynet.co.uk (al friend) wrote: >This evening an irate parkie ejected me and my buggy from Hackney >Marshes as it was a vehicle and they apparently are banned. Does he do the same with kids who ride their bikes across the grass? Or mothers with pushchairs?.. What about if you took up kite jumping? Surely your *kite* would then be a "vehicle"..? *tsk* Obviously one of these "jobsworth" characters... but just wait until the Hackney Marshes kite fest next month, then you can cut up all that grass again :-) Stay happy, Helen. -- +=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D+=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D+ | Helen Ribchester (Undergraduate) | MOTTO: | | Department of Applied Acoustics, | It's better to regret | | Salford University, Manchester, UK | something you have done | +=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D+ than somethin= g you | | H.Ribchester@acoustics.salford.ac.uk | haven't done ! | +=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D+=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D+ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = From: steveh@pyramid.com (Steve Hammatt) Subject: Re: Banned from Hackney Marsh Date: Fri, 17 May 1996 06:05:05 -1000 Organization: Pyramid Technology Message-ID: <4ni83h$4nb@stealth.eng.pyramid.com> al friend (afriend@easynet.co.uk) wrote: > This evening an irate parkie ejected me and my buggy from Hackney Marshes > as it was a vehicle and they apparently are banned. I was talking to Jeremy Boyce yesterday (member of team AirKraft) at his kite shop in Stoke Newington. He is one of the organisers of the Hackney Kite Festival (June 15th/16th) and was *very* interested to hear about this, since they have buggying organised for the festival. Jeremy suggested that there have been problems with kids riding motorbikes and go-karts on the Marshes recently. He was not aware of any ban on buggying, but would be bringing it up with the park authorities. I suggest you give Jeremy a call if you would like more details. I haven't got his number to hand, but it will be in the FAQ (shop is called "High as a Kite").
