Yesterday I drove up to my hometown flying site that sits ontop of a large hill that over looks one of the most breath taking views of countryside I have ever seen! a person can search and travel and sometimes find paradise litteraly in his/her back yard. I was suppose to meet some people who never flew a sport kite before from a local sporting goods shop, but they never showed up. So......pulling out the diamond kite for the high winds to teach, I started flying. I have not flown a diamond kite in years, but something about the basics, the ease, the simplicity of flight that really had me enjoying it for awhile. I usally like to teach on high performance kites but yesterday I had a great time putting this "cheap" kite in the hands of any one I could convince to take the handles. I wasn't worried or thinking about selling or anything at the time, I just enjoyed watching the faces of these people of all ages get hooked for the first time. I don't know if they will ever get involved in kiting, but at least they enjoyed it for a brief while and left the hill with with a larger smile than they came with.
