Sport kite championships... 2 days Workshops - Ron Reich (confirmed) & Dave Brittain (hopefully) - 2 days A must for all Australia kite flyers - But everyone welcome.. Further details can be obtained from me... Our club flyer for this event .... The 1995 South Australian Sport Kite Championships and Victor Harbor Kite Festival promise to be one of the feature events of 1995. Not only do we have a greast event planned in a really lovely town, but we also have FLIGHT SQUADRON, one of the World's best Sport Kite team, coming from America for two days of workshops leading up to the event. This year's event is brought to you by ETSA (Electricity Trust of South Australia) who have done great work with kiting over the years as part of their "Look up and Live" campaign. The event is run by Adelaide Kite Flyers' Association (AKFA). The flying site is at Victor Harbor, approximately one hours drive from Adelaide on the South Coast. It is a beautiful seaside resort. AKFA have secured the use of the trotting track for the event, including use of various facilities there. The workshops on the Thurday/Friday promise to be a highlight. If you have any special ideas or things you want to learn, let me know and I will pass them on to Ron Reich, leader of the Flight Squadron, who will be running the workshops. The workshop price is exceptional. When I tell you that a two day workshop with Ron in America will cost you $120 US dollars and these only gets you Ron, not the whole team that we have, then it looks like great value to me. Truly the opportunity of a lifetime. In addition, we area looking good to also have the leading Rev flyer in the world, Dave Brittain, attending and teaching. To welcome these guys we have planned a function at Urimbirra Widlife Park, which includes a nocturnal wildlife walk and barbeque n the Friday evening. To qualify as a junior flyer, you must be 15 or under at the date of the event. Precision events will operate under 'League Style' rules this year. Read the current Rule book for details. Precision manoeuvres will be forwarded upon receipt of your registration. To avoid budgetary problems for you, the flyers, we are offering the facility to pay using Bankcard, Mastercard or Visa. We have arranged a special place for both our accommodation and the Saturday night dinner. It is called "The Anchorage" and has a range of rooms and prices to suit everybody. Booking there also assist us in raising funds to stage the event. Please book early as our block booking will be handed back one month before the event. The dinner will be a gourmet treat with lots of fun to be had. Any idea how much fun when I tell you that Hugo will be hosting kite trivia and an auction among other activities !! For further information, please call me on : 1-61-8-271 8155 We look forward to seeing you there in March. GARY LYONS Adelaide Kite Flyers' Assoc. Inc.
