On pages 4 and 47 of the Fall 1994 issue of "KiteLines" magazine I noticed an illustration and photograph of a "KiteRoach". This kite was designed by George Peters and was being sold by Flying Colors in Boulder, Colorado, USA. I was wondering if anyone owns one of these beautifully detailed, single-line kites? If so, please give me your feedback regarding the "KiteRoach". Obviously I am interested in purchasing one and would like to know more about the kite and its flying characteristics. Thanks In Advance For Your Reply :) Jerry Yurek jerryyurek@aol.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sat, 14 Jan 1995 12:59:58 -1000 From: JerryYurek@aol.com Message-Id: <950114175949_1228940@aol.com> Organization: Harvard University Office of Information Technology Subject: Anyone have a "KiteRoach"? Obviously I am interested in purchasing one and would like to >know more about the kite and its flying characteristics. I watched a 'roach' take 30 mph+ winds in Dieppe. It flew VERY well... I would not have guessed that it would fly as well as it did. I think that it needs about 6 mph to go up, but i don't know. If you have any questions, call George. He will not lie to you and will probibly give you a VERY conservative estimate on the capabilities of the kite. If you like, BUY ONE... it will fly... ___________________________________________________ email: crowell@kite.com FTP: ftp.teleport.com/pub/users/crowell WWW: http://www.teleport.com/~crowell Kites By Carl Crowell - O.S.F.M. I saw "Roach Bob" flying at the Junction Kite Retreat last year in fairly low winds (it moved around a bit). Lots of magical creations come from George Peters, and most fly in a wide variety of conditions (as does George). I'm sure "Roach Bob" (as it's know in Texas) would make a nice addition to your collection. -- Karen Gustavson karengus@rain.org = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
