Subject: Any substitutes for...

I just finished buildinga Spinoff from the Skyworks Experience plans and
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a part that is needed.

The part is the spreader/spar connector. Its referred to as a plastic
connector or t-connector, etc.

Anyone have any inovative subsitutes that I could put together. I cant
seem to find any kite suppliers locally that sell them.o

Ideas like ..I have one  delta that has bungi from the end of the
main spar to a 10cm piece of spar then another that connects to the bottom
of the kite.

Can I cut it out of wood? or what about a plastic tube that I drill?

Any thoughts.
