Henry Kingston, Ontario >From an altitude of approximately 150 feet, in 15-20 mph winds, Parabear Petri made his historical first jump. The brave bear had good reason to do this as he had an important 'Bear Mail' message to deliver--a proposal of marriage from Adrian Pierorazio to Heather Warren. The message was delivered safely and the proposal accepted immediately. The couple intend to be married in October 1995. Information is requested on any other known kite-related proposals to be used at the wedding reception. HHHhhhhooooorrrrraaaayyyyy!!!!!! Good thing the bear didn't flow away on an updraft! >Information is requested on any other known kite-related proposals to be >used at the wedding reception. Several years back, Bill Goodwin proposed to his wife Mary Jane (better known as MJ by east coast kiters) by hanging a banner from a large DC (yes, of course it was red/white/blue, for those who know Bill). I believe this may have been during a Smithsonian festival, but I'm not sure...any of the DC kiters out there remember? Jeff -- |Jeffrey C. There is a picture in Kitelines of that event. DC was the kite. Shower curtain was the medium for the message. Happily ever after and upward are Bill and MJ.
