Although there was a period of time which I was not part of this group (AKA) I did try to keep up with as much as possible. I have learned that there were a few changes made which will affect some of the contestants. I would like someone to please qualify this information... 1) Quad line competitions which were changed, (Novice, Intermediate, Experienced and Masters) to include only Experienced and Masters class flyers sometime in January is now considered open class? 2) Novice competitiors will not be included in the AKA "Ranking/Qualifying" system? I'm not really sure but I think I remember the American Kitefliers Association (AKA) saying something of the fact that they would NOT make changes in the middle of the year. Especially this close to the convention. Did th ey resind that statement? And now that we are at the end of the ranking/qualifying year I can ask the question which I have patiently waited for since November 94. Which ranking/qualifying system did the AKA use? AND why are so many of the SWSKC contestants complaining that the results from the AKA's phone in system, can't be accurate? AND just another question sort of related. Why if the ranking/qualifying system is inaccurate, and the person running it is sooooooooooooo busy, why did the AKA provide him the opportunity, (within a group of two others, Marti and Andrew) to take on the additional responsibility of setting up a Web Page? By the way, what has happened to the Web Page? How responsible can the board of directors within the AKA be to give an individual another responsibility when they cannot complete the first one? With all the individuals which make up the association, I would think that there is someone out there who would be as capable if not more capable of doing as good a job. Also, one last bit of interesting news. I had thought that the issue of my AKA membership was a moot point. It appears that one John Burkhart has brought the issue to the surface once again, and has asked the AKA board to reconsider my membership. From what his letter stated it was obvious to me that John is being very defensive. I just wonder what he's hiding? Keep your chin up, it's the only way you can see your kite.... -- *************>>>>>>>>>>>>>MR.NASTY<<<<<<<<<<<<<************** Fiesta Kite Ideas http://www.tmn.com/kiteweb/home.htm 8302 Tiguex Mr.Nasty@ix.netcom.com Universal City, TX 78148 (210) 659-1803 or (512) 326-6221 ************************************************************* = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
